Local Students Visit Bri-Stor

The group, all aged 16, are currently in their final year at Kings Mead High School based in Hednesofrd and are considering their future career options. Having expressed an interest in engineering, they were invited to come and see what the Bri-Stor Apprenticeship programme has to offer.

They were given an introduction to both Bri-Stor and sister company Alpha Manufacturing before taking a guided tour of the facilities.
Former Kings Mead student and current second year apprentice Reuben Murcott lead one of the guided tours and was proud to be able to present the company to students of his former school.

Reuben explained:

"Two years ago, I was in the same boat as the guys who came today, not really sure of what I wanted to do and unsure of the options available. Bri-Stor and Alpha came to present their Apprenticeship programme at our school, then soon after I visited their open evening and applied for an apprenticeship. Now I've completed my level two apprenticeship and I'm working to level 3 with a view to starting a foundation degree in engineering. I was really proud to show the group around today and I'd encourage any of them with an interest in engineering to apply with Alpha or Bri-Stor."

Having already expressed an interest in the Apprenticeship programme, many of today's group will likely return with their parents for the upcoming open evening and hopefully then apply to be part of our 2018 intake.
