Bri-Stor work experience week 2

Bri-Stor welcomed Adam Potter this week from Malbank School for some work experience which offered him the opportunity to see what it is like to work in the automotive engineering industry.

Joining Bri-Stor for 3 days, Adam was tasked to design and construct a model van which will house a docking station and speakers to allow him to play music from a handset.

Adam said “Everyone was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the 3 days here has been really enjoyable and extremely interesting”.

Working closely with our CAD engineers and Engineering Manager, the following steps were taken:

Step 1 – Working in CAD to measure and design a model van

Step 2 – The parts were manufactured on site at Alpha Manufacturing and on to Atlas Coating where the parts were powder coated

Step 3 - Using rivets to manually build the shell of the vehicle, including a space for a phone bracket - Electrics to be installed to allow for a Bluetooth speaker to be linked to it - Install a battery for the switch to the headlights

Step 4 – Design, Print and apply graphics to the shell
