Bri-Stor Convert Brand New Fleet For Clarion Response

12 June 2019

Bri-Stor Systems has recently converted 290 Combo Cargo and Vivaro vans that Vauxhall supplied to Clarion Response. These vans have been converted into mobile workshops for Clarion maintenance engineers to use across the UK.

Clarion Response is part of Clarion Housing Group which is one of the UK’s largest housing associations, which delivers, repairs and maintenance to over 90,000 Clarion Housing homes across the country. Along with the already convereted Combo Cargo and Vivaro Vans, Vauxhall will supply Clarion Reponse with the all-new Vivario in the coming months.

The vans were supplied to Clarion Response in collaboration with The Procurement Partnership, the Imperial Group dealer service and SG Fleet, the fleet management company.

Clarion Response came to Bri-Stor as they were looking for a versatile conversion concept which both suited the diverse requirements of their workforce - such as plumbers and electricians - whilst retaining as much uniformity as possible, enabling vehicles to be easily transferred from one area of operations to another when required.

Clarion Response have been keen to take advantage of our turn-key LCV conversion service. After some intense planning, Bri-Stor rolled out a vehicle replacement plan. This plan saw Bri-Stor undertake almost every element of the conversion build, from livery supply, fit to tracker install, all to racking and roof equipment.

By installing the Vantage racking system Bri-Stor were able to meet the requirements of Clarion Response engineers, the Vantage 'wedge shape' racking fits perfectly into the Vivaro, as it was designed with this model variant in mind. This racking is also designed to give the user accessibility via both sliding doors.

In addition to the ample storage space provided by the racking, storage boxes, cabinets and tilt bins, there were specific items in the concept designed to be utilised by different user groups: Electricians and Plumbers could utilise the diagonal tray to store length of piping, Plasterers could use the diagonal storage on the van to store sheets of plasterboard and operatives of all types could employ a specifically designed nearside unit to store glass sheets when required.

The final element of the process saw Clarion Response’s operatives travelling to Bri-Stor’s vehicle handover facilities near Stafford, where they dropped off their old vehicles for de-fleet and appropriate disposal, and collected their new vehicles, which were PDI-ed and ready to be put to work straightaway.

Colin Hutt (Clarion Response Fleet Manager)

“Bri-Stor were appointed following a tender process to find a supplier that could provide Clarion Response with a quality, lightweight, innovative, crash tested racking solution. Bri-Stor have also been extremely helpful in assisting with the roll-out of the new vans and de-fleeting the returning vehicles.”
