90 Days 90 Vehicles

03 April 2017

RAC Handover 2

A hugely successful day on Sunday 2nd April for the hand-over of the newly converted Mercedes Vitos to the RAC.

At the beginning of January, we had no vans, nothing built and only a nomination email – 90 days later, Bri-Stor Systems have fully converted over 90 vans, all of which were operationally ready on 2nd April.

This has been a massive achievement and success, which was only possible with the team work, effort and dedication shown by the full Bri-Stor team. The build included everything from internal fit out, communications equipment to new livery.

Well done to everyone at Bri-Stor Group who had an involvement in this – here’s to the next build!!

Bri-Stor open evening for new generation of engineers was a success

29 March 2017

Apprentice Open Evening

On Tuesday 28th November, we opened our doors to our impressive 30 acre site where Bri-Stor hosted one of their most successful Apprenticeship open evenings yet, with numerous visitors coming to view our site.

Potential students, all looking to start an Engineering Apprenticeship this year, had the opportunity to take part in interactive sessions and speak with team leaders, current Apprentices and those who have successfully completed Apprenticeships to discuss the range of opportunities the programmes open up to them. As well as this, visitors were taken on a factory tour to see first-hand all that is on offer.

William Davies-Hill, Apprentice Manager said “The evening was a great success, the young people had a chance to see the scope of the factory and meet the management team. Whilst on the tour they had the chance to decide which business would best suit their goals and set them on the career path they want. Overall a good evening and a vital first step towards employment for potential new apprentices”.

The Bri-Stor Group are looking to recruit 16 Apprentices in September 2017. Having already received countless applications for both Mechanical Engineer at Bri-Stor Systems and Manufacturing / Engineering at Alpha Manufacturing, the Group are confident that all these places will be filled.

William Davies-Hill, Apprenticeship Manager and one of our apprentices, Joe Abbotts, met with race organiser Grahame Neagus in Stone to confirm our place at this years’ event.
He said "We are raising money for Help For Heroes - we raised about £520 last year through sponsorship for the race. It was good fun and this year we will have a few teams of apprentices entering and making the soapboxes".

2016’s record intake of Apprentices has been a Success

22 December 2016

2016 saw its biggest intake so far of Apprentices for Bri-Stor Systems with roles including Auto Electrics and Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Apprenticeship mentor William Davies-Hill confidently states ‘The new starters are progressing well with their theory practice and are continually increasing their skill set from building all aspects of electrical conversion'.

Apprentices currently based at The JCB Academy are two thirds of their way through studying and will be joining Bri-Stor at the end of February to continue learning electrics, inspection and fitting.

Bri-Stor’s Year 2 Apprentices have advanced in to the work place and are adding value and quality into the electrical department.

One major advantage of a Bri-Stor Apprenticeship has always been the diverse and interesting group projects that our Apprentices under take. 2017 is set to be no different with two exciting projects planned. Working in teams, they will gain experience in overcoming mechanical and electrical concerns to build and race a Caterham 370R legal road car. They will also be tasked to build an amphibious vehicle to race in the annual Stone Soap Box Derby and to be able to operate the vehicle in water.
